Learn how to make the ultimate Holiday staple to any Holiday Feast using our oval roaster, Herb Butter Roasted Turkey.

Ingredients:

  • Rosemary

  • Sage

  • Thyme

  • 1 bar of butter

  • Turkey

  • Salt and pepper

Steps For Herb Butter Roaster Turkey Using Oval Roaster:

  1. Defrost turkey. Make sure your turkey is completely frozen before preparing to cook. The turkey will need 2-3 days to completely defrost depending on the size of your bird (approx. 5 hours per pound). Once it has defrosted, pull out the next and giblets.

  2. Day-of cooking. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  3. Prepare ingredients. Cut carrots, onion and celery with chef knife (recommend Messerstahl). Make herb butter to spread on turkey using one bar of butter, rosemary, sage and thyme. No brining necessary!

  4. Season turkey. Smother herb butter, using hand, all over turkey and under the skin of the breast to help moisten. Add a dash of pepper and salt, too.

  5. Fill oval roaster. Evenly place carrots, onions and celery along the bottom of pan. Place on top of vegetables the Roaster Rack, and add turkey.

  6. Cover oval roaster and place in oven. Set timer to best timeframe for turkey weight. Generally, turkey needs to cook 15-18 minutes per pound. Thighs should read 165F (74C) and breast should read 160F (71C).

  7. Check cooking pace. You may want to check turkey progress halfway through cook time to ensure cooking as expected, and baste skin with flavorful juices from bottom of pan. Continue roasting.

  8. Brown skin. Open oven, and uncover turkey for last thirty minutes to brown skin. Close oven and keep an eye on browning. You may want to pull out earlier.

  9. Rest. Once your turkey is cooked through, tent with foil to keep it warm, and allow for 15-30 minutes to rest.

  10. Slice & Enjoy. Once turkey is ready to serve, pull up roaster rack handles and rest on pan edge to bring turkey higher for slicing. Use a carving knife to cut juicy, tender slices for guests to enjoy. Place in pan or preferred serving dish.
